Our Story

Okotoks' Best Restaurant — Family-Owned & Authentic

The Social Kabob Authentic East Indian Restaurant is a beloved family-owned Indian restaurant in the heart of Okotoks, Alberta. Nestled in the Southridge Shopping Centre at 200 Southridge Drive, we have quickly become the go-to destination for authentic East Indian cuisine in the Foothills region south of Calgary.

Founded by owner Amit Kumar together with partners Jagdish Johal and Sachin Pajjii, The Social Kabob was created to bring genuine Indian flavours and the warmth of Indian hospitality to a community that, until our opening, had few authentic Indian dining options. Our menu is built on traditional recipes passed down and perfected over generations — from slow-simmered North Indian curries and perfectly charred Tandoori grills to flavourful South Indian specialties and Indo-Chinese fusion dishes from our "Social Wok" menu.

In 2024, the loyalty of our Okotoks guests earned us the title of Okotoks' Best Restaurant in the Western Wheel Readers' Choice Awards, along with the Reader's Choice GOLD Winner recognition.
